On January 11 of 2015, Barcelona sealed a hugely important 3-1 victory over Athletic Madrid as they defeated one of their rivals in the Spanish League and that match also marked the start of what was going to be a positive run of successive triumphs for Barcelona.
The latest victory of Barcelona was against Levante as the team of Luis Enrique claimed a 5-0 triumph and it also was the 6th consecutive victory for the squad that wants to get ahead of the table toppers Real Madrid.
Barcelona is going through a very impressive form and Luis Enrique is well aware of this but the Spanish coach of Barcelona wants his team to perform even better as the tactician took the chance to talk about his squad after Barcelona’s 3-1 victory over Villareal in their Spanish Cup match.
“We have seen different versions of the team as the season has progressed, but what a manager is always hoping is for his team to get better and better”.
“When the results are positive, then the team’s confidence and morale is always going to be higher as well. I like the way the players react when they go behind in a match. They have the resources and they go into each challenge as if was their last. It’s always easier to win games when you have such top quality players as these in your squad. They know they can beat anyone. We like to control matches, but the circumstances don’t always allow that. But we never sit back on a lead. We keep going out in search of ways to create damage and make use of any spaces that teams leave open at the back’’ Luis Enrique told the media.
Luis Enrique is hoping that Barcelona can continue their current form and win a major trophy which is something that the Spanish club failed to do in the previous season when Athletic Madrid won the Spanish League and Real Madrid snatched the Champions League title. It was a very underwhelming season for Barcelona and they want to avoid going through a similar season as that one.
